JUROR: GABS CONWAY
Gabs Conway is ceramic artist born in the Midwest but grew up in Missoula, MT. Gabs obtained her BFA in Studio Art with a concentration in Ceramics at the University of Wisconsin - Stout. She holds a strong connection with sculpting but has a familiar relationship with wheel throwing and functional pottery.
Gabs is interested in the tension that is created between the dualities of existence. In which she considers the human essence, and the human physicality as two separate entities. The body is merely a vessel for human existence; a continuator of survival. She explores what of the human experience is an emphasis of living, and what is a strain of human accomplishments. As of late, she is interested in forming tension in space by that of the viewer and that of the work.
